What are the benefits of enrolling my child in a bilingual preschool?

A bilingual education can strengthen the executive function of the brain. Research shows that because bilingual students are able to use two languages at the same time, switching consistently, it develops skills for functions such as inhibition, switching attention, and working memory. As such, students who are being educated bilingually, often perform better on tasks which require multi-tasking, decision making and problem solving, even though they have nothing to do with the language.

When does the school year start and end?

Our school year this year begins on September 4th and ends on June 20th with a graduation for our graduates the following day. In order to help our student's family, our school generally follows the Renton School District calendar. This helps make it simpler for parents to coordinate plans when it comes to breaks and days off with our student's having the same general schedule as their siblings in Elementary School.

What are the minimum age requirements for enrollment?

We are currently accepting student enrollment of children beginning at the age of 3 years. Children may enroll in our preschool program when they are at least two years and six months, and toilet trained.

How many children are in each class?

At our school we take pride in keeping our classes small. In that, the capacity for each class is 10 students in which gives us the benefit of being able to give all of our students lots of extra added personal attention. In that, our teacher to student ratio is currently 1:10.

Does my child need to be potty trained to attend the preschool?

Yes. While we understand accidents happen, these should be minimal. We provide frequent bathroom breaks to the children throughout the day.

What discipline methods are used at the school?

We believe in positive redirection and one-on-one problem solving to develop your child's ability to self regulate. We never berate, embarrass, punish, or withhold activities in order to discipline children.
